Celebrating with cake!
Taking some time out to celebrate our 2nd full year in business and what a great year it’s been. We’ve purified over 100 proteins from human, bacterial, fungal, viral and plant origin for a range of clients based in [...]
And then there were 10!
It's certainly been a busy time over the last few months at Peak Proteins which has seen our staff numbers grow to 10. We have significantly expanded our protein purification and characterisation capability through Anna Valentine and Juli Warwicker joining [...]

Peak Proteins is now registered as operating under ISO 9001 : 2015. We have received our certification in February 2017. Now all our customers have the re-assurance that we are operating effectively and efficiently.
Fragment-based hit discovery for the epigenetic target, BRD3
Earlier this year Peak Protein’s first synchrotron trip took place to collect X-ray data on the target bromodomain 3 (BRD3) in a joint project run together with Sygnature Discovery. BRD3 was chosen as a target in order to test the [...]
X-ray crystal structures of BRD3-fragment complexes presented at EFMC-ISMC 2016
Peak Proteins presented details of a successful collaboration with Sygnature Discovery at the International Medicinal Chemistry Symposium in Manchester last week. The project involved looking at the interactions of small molecule fragments with a bromodoamin protein (BRD3). The modes of binding of these fragments were determined [...]
FEN1-inhibitor co-crystal structure published
Mark Abbott has recently co-authored a paper in Nature Chemical Biology as part of a collaboration between AstraZeneca, University of Sheffield and Pelago BioSciences. The publication describes the co-crystal structure of flap endonuclease 1 (FEN1) bound with small molecule inhibitors and describes [...]
