Peak Protein's Team Reaching 50

Celebrating The Peak Protein’s Team Reaching 50

It is 9 years since the formation of Peak Proteins and in July this year, with the arrival of Ariadna Juarez-Martinez, we reached 50 people.

50 people, all under one roof, all focused on protein science and structural biology presents an exceptionally potent offering for our clients.

Within our team there is now an incredibly broad set of skills that allows us to support a wide range of requests. By way of illustration, within our protein science group, we have a specialist membrane protein team; our cells team are experts in HEK, CHO, insect cell and E.coli culture and our structural biology teams support crystallography, NMR and Cryo-EM projects. Alongside that we aim to understand and characterise the proteins we produce with instruments such as our mass spectrometer and FIDA.

Not only that, but our staff have a diverse range of backgrounds with people having spent time in academia, large pharma, biotech start-ups, contract research organisations (CROs) and biopharmaceutical manufacturing environments. What that means is that when faced with a challenging new project request, the chances are that someone within our team has worked with that protein target class, will have produced protein for that kind of end use application and has faced the particular issues unique to that protein before.

At Peak Proteins it is the people and our ethos that obviously make us who we are. We all share a love of science, but beyond that, at the end of the day we are all individuals. To get an insight into our people and what makes us tick perhaps take a look at some of the spotlight profiles on people’s web pages. There are also links to these at the bottom of the join us page.
