More about Sarah

Sarah graduated from the University of Leicester with a degree in Medical Biochemistry which included an industry placement at a small biotech company in Oxford. Here Sarah first gained her love of cell biology in a cell assay development project to investigate absorption properties of drugs. After graduating, Sarah joined AstraZeneca, spending 12 years developing a large range of laboratory skills. These included molecular biology techniques, and biochemical and cellular assay formats across various stages of drug discovery, from Lead Identification to Translational Science for a number of small molecule Oncology projects.

Sarah took some time out of industry to share her passion for science and practical skills with the 'scientists of the future', working as a Science Teacher, teaching 11 to 18 year olds. Missing working in the lab, Sarah has now returned to her primary love of hands-on science in the Cell Science Team at Peak Proteins and is excited to expand her knowledge and enjoy the new challenges.

When not working, Sarah enjoys spending time with her family, baking and swimming. Sarah also loves nature and the outdoors, with regular walks and bike rides around the local area.
